Seachtain na Gaeilge sa Leabharlanna an Chláir – Seachtain na Gaeilge at Clare Libraries
Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia is an international Irish language festival and one of the biggest celebrations of our native language and culture that takes place each year in Ireland and in many other countries.
The festival gives an opportunity to everyone to enjoy Irish, whether you are a fluent speaker, learner or have a cúpla focal, with a calendar of entertaining and fun events for every type of interest and every age group.
Clare Libraries will be celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge le Energia with a host of events for adults and children.

Tuesday, 12th March, 7:00pm: House! Bilingual poetry reading and live accompaniment of newly-composed score with Emer O’Flaherty and Joanne Callinan.

Tuesday, 5th March, 4:00–4:30pm: Stories and colouring for children, with Elaine.
Clare Libraries County Librarian, Helen Walsh, said, “The Irish language gives you an understanding into the Irish way of thinking. By expressing yourself in Irish, you are expressing Irish culture and history.”
Ms Walsh added, “It doesn’t matter if you only have a few words, everyone with an interest in the Irish language is welcome to join in the celebrations in our libraries this March.”
